An Excellent Adventure Planned

I am excited and a little bit anxious to set off for our biggest adventure yet aboard Beatitude. We leave tomorrow, Thursday, 8/25. Cindy, I, and her twin sister, Christy (who is visiting us for a week and a half), will plan on leaving Regatta Pointe Marina mid-morning, head out into the Gulf, and turn to port. If all goes well, we will complete our fist overnight sail without a hired captain on board. Our goal is to arrive down around Sanibel Island Friday morning.

We’ll spend the next four days biting off 20-25 mile chunks of the Gulf Intracostal
Waterway as we make our way northward. Day by day updates of our trip will follow. Stay tuned…

Meanwhile, a couple of photos from our maiden voyage back in September of last year. We brought Beaitude from Ft. Lauderdale to our home on the Manatee River over the course of five days. En route, we completed two overnight sails with the help of a hired captain on board.
