At 10:00 a.m. yesterday morning, we pulled out of our slip at the Marina for a relaxing day on the water. The weather was gorgeously sunny with temperatures of around 86°. The forecasted winds of 12-14 knots never materialized, so we did limited sailing. Most of the day was spent motor-sailing in about 5 knots of wind. We headed out into the gulf through the Southwest Channel, cut off the engines, and with sails up, drifted along in a NNE direction at 1 knot in 4 knots of wind. After enjoying the calm gulf conditions, we cranked up the starboard engine and motor-sailed around Egmont key and reentered Tampa Bay through the Egmont Channel before making our way back to the marina.
We pulled into our slip just before 5:00 p.m., tied up Beatitude, and piled in Duane’s van for a trip to the Phillippi Creek Village Restaurant and Oyster Bar on the south side of Sarasota. The seafood was great! Cindy enjoyed some tasty coconut shrimp while I had a whole red snapper. Mmmmm! We’ll definitely return for another meal before we leave Bradenton. The restaurant is not far from our favorite beach: Siesta Key Beach.
Looks like you all had a good time. Beautiful weather. Looking forward to getting aboard Beatitude again myself 🙂
It’s looking more and more like you’ll be catching up with us on the move!
