Lunch and the Beach

Yesterday, we didn’t take Beatitude out, but we did enjoy dinner on the water and a walk along the beach.

We have been trying to coordinate schedules with our immediate neighbors at Regatta Pointe, Ed and Terry, for months. They just returned from the Bahamas with their Leopard catamaran, Enchanted. Yesterday, they treated Cindy and I to a lunch at Mar Vista Restaurant on Longboat Key. This was an anniversary treat (our anniversary was in October, which tells you how long we’ve been trying to get together!). Cindy and I both enjoyed our food. Cindy had the grouper quesadillas and I had the flounder fish tacos. Our entrees and our appetizer (calamari) were wonderful!

After touring the construction of their new home nearby on Longboat Key, we stopped at Coquina Beach on Anna Maria Island and walked along the gulf shore for a while enjoying the beautiful blue-green water and the vigorous breaking of the waves stirred up by a brisk northerly breeze.

We finished off the day with a beautiful celebration of the Great Vigil of Easter and First Eucharist of Easter at Church of the Redeemer in Sarasota!
